Art Exhibits 2007-2008First Universalist has a long tradition of exhibiting original work by regional artists. Art work is displayed in the social hall (lower level) of the sanctuary wing. In some but not all cases, items are available for purchase from the artists. Animal Alphabet Photos and Animal PhotosDick Kain Dick has traveled the world and taken wonderful photos of animals throughout his travels, enough to create an animal alphabet. These will be on display and are available in book form. Dick will also display other larger photos taken during his extensive travels.
Nature PaintingsJudith Fairbrother and Wendy Lane Judith and Wendy have explored nature images using various techniques. Their award-winning works have been on display at the Arboretum, the Bell Museum and a variety of other venues.
Wicked GameMark Carlson Mark has created paintings that show seemingly every-day scenes, but each actually depicts a hate crime. Those viewing the exhibit have an opportunity to play the "wicked game" by guessing which painting represents which crime.
Women Artist GroupSara Belleau, Fawzia Kahn,

Taylor-Rodgers, Sharon Ramirez, Sue Peploe This group of artists started meeting at First Universalist Church on a monthly basis to explore art together. The pieces on display represent works that were developed during their sessions together.
Veterans For Peace Photo ExhibitChante Wolf A veteran herself, Chante became an advocate for just treatment of women in the military and a supporter of the peace movement. Her photos explore a variety of her experiences.
TextilesKathie Simon Frank Kathie is an award winning textile artist. On display in her exhibit will be quilts, weavings, and costumes that she has created.
