Tips for Facilitating a Visioning Dialogue
- Welcome and open the Visioning Dialogue group.
- Light the chalice using the attached reading or one of your choosing.
- Facilitate introductions of group members.
- Briefly describe AUW’s Visioning Project and purpose.
- Review the three questions, choosing one or two to address, depending on time and the number of people in your group. Groups should feel free to schedule another dialogue if they want to cover all three questions.
- Agree in advance on the approximate time each woman has to share.
- Let group members know that someone will be taking notes—an AUW Vision Team member of a willing volunteer from your women’s circle. Detailed notes should be taken, using the speaker’s exact words when possible. To respect privacy, avoid using speakers’ names in your notes.
- Begin the process of sharing, creating a space for each woman to respond — without interruption and with a spirit of deep listening.
- Label and clip your notes together in an envelope and drop off or mail to First Universalist Church, Atten: AUW Vision Project, 3400 Dupont Avenue, Mpls, MN 55408. The Vision Team has a lot of data to review so please return your notes ASAP after your gathering and at the latest by April 18!
