AUW sponsors activities for members and friends, mostly from September to June, to promote our three pillars—community building, spiritual deepening, and our work for women’s justice.

MARCH

3 Lobby Day-Power Up! * Evening of preparation, reflection and action in support of March 4 Lobby Day with UU seminarian Kelli Clement. 6-8 pm.

4 Pro-Choice Lobby Day * Join UUs and others in learning about the legislative process, then sharing your views with state legislators at the MN State Capitol! Registration at 8:45 am., “Talking about Choice” trainings at 10:15 a.m. Rally in the Rotunda at 12:30 pm. Wrap up at 2:30 p.m. Contact Cathy Apostle.

7 Friday “Get-Connected” Discovering our Spirit Animal with practicing Shaman, Julie Mattson. Includes discussion and a guided imagery. Come unwind and share a meal! Bring a dish to share. 6-8 pm. Cummins Rm. Becca Pournour.

15-18 UU Sexuality Education & Advocacy Training (SEAT)—Wash. D.C. *

Prepares teens to become effective advocates for comprehensive sexuality
education. Abbie McMillan, First U youth and 2007 SEAT graduate, is a trainer.

21 Good Friday: A Progressive Religious Voice for Choice *

A weekend of fun, reflection, friendship, and learning. Koinonia Retreat Center. Full. Sign up early next year!

8 Youth Lobby Day Reproductive Choice *—hear from advocates, legislators about lobbying for sex education and minors' consent. Sponsored by Coalition for Responsible Sexuality Education. 12-4 pm, State Capitol.

27 MUUSJA Spring Meeting  Includes special presentation on Comprehensive Sexuality Education. 3-5 pm, First Unitarian Society, Minneapolis.

9 Mother Daughter Banquet
A First U tradition for 12 years! Bring your daughters, mothers, and grandmothers for this gala event, including entertainment for children.
6-8 pm, Social Hall.

10 “Making the Connections” *An all-day retreat for daughters, ages 10-12, and their mothers or female mentors. Fun and educational. Sponsored by Planned Parenthood, an AUW RR Campaign partner. FFI: education@ ppmns.org or 612-821-6198.

18 103rd AUW Annual Meeting
